I found this on buzzfeed this morning.. The Monster Engine, a book and art exhibit created by Dave Devries, adds a professional touch to children’s drawings. This artist takes children’s sketches and adds adult painting effects to give the sketches an amazingly crazed but dementedly cute dimension… they’re cool!

With ground shrimp in the rice and fish paste for the hair, it’s the obama sushi roll! found here

I found this whilst looking through etsy, it’s the work of cambridge illustrator Heidi Burton

Maisie is the daughter of a good friend of mine, and before christmas, Maisie and I had the opportunity to get to make doodlebread together and here’s a wee photo diary of how we got on 🙂

Here’s maisie, wondering when we’re going to start baking and stop taking photos..

Maisie’s a big girl and doesn’t need anyone’s help opening the packets!

Maisie’s added all the water, and is stirring up the dough..

The dough is getting good and kneaded..

We’ve squished all our dough down into the tin

Now to get cleaned up!

While we’re waiting for the dough to proof, Maisie makes a start colouring in her doodle bread box..

We plopped out the doodle before maisie went to bed, and I popped it in the oven. In the morning, we all had fresh Doodle Bread for breakfast!

Maisie has been asking for weeks now when she is going to be on the doodlebread blog, and hopefully she’ll enjoy the photos! Has anyone reading the blog got any photos of making doodle bread? Would you like to share them? Because we’d love to see them! We have some goodies to give away for any that appear on the doodle bread blog, so if you’d like to appear here please Email Us at hello@doodlebread.com.

Found via food genius luxaire’s website. From what I can gather, the ingredients are a mysterious mix of nuts, sesame seeds…and moistened with melted marshmellow, and the colour is derived from different dried healthy ingredients.. peas, nuts, fruit.. the crayons even draw!

Yum!

Whilst meandering through different blogs today, I found a link to this one on apartment therapy – life according to celia

It’s a beautifully visual blog about the musings of Celia, things she likes, recipes she’s cooked, her wedding, cute things and wee anecdotes. Ok, it’s not about doodles or cooking or anything that I usually have on the doodle bread blog, but it’s all so gorgeous I thought I’d share it on here 🙂

Check out wildammo.com for more coffee cup doodles 🙂

I found these teabag designs while hoking around some food design blogs and thought they were really cute! They have been designed by Korean Design studio wdaru  and have probably been on the blogosphere for a while now but I thought were well worth a look..

I’ve been pretty rubbish with the Doodlebread blog over January; filling out taxes, filing, dark mornings and the general january blues haven’t helped. I did get the chance to have a quick getaway though to Budapest for a few days and then to venice.. I’d booked tickets on a train between the two cities, imagining it to be a deeply romantic train journey across central europe. In reality, it was an ultra modern open carriage with fluorescent lighting and I spent most of the time trying to sleep upright whilst not touching knees with a strange man sitting in front of me. Not quite the orient express, but still, I had a nice time and am back with lots of doodle bread ideas to update the blog with.. 🙂

I found this on Once Upon a Plate blog  – gorgeous! Little Carrot beaks, cream cheese bellies and the black olive feathers, very cute and would be amazing for a christmas dinner party  🙂
